We at Konditori Gamla Stan are looking for a creative and passionate baker who wants to be part of our new venture and create wonderful pastries and bread. If you love baking and have experience in the craft, we would love to hear from you!
Possible job duties:
- Bake and decorate various types of bread, cakes, and pastries.
- Develop new recipes and contribute to our menu.
- Ensure the highest quality of all products.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience as a baker or in the bakery field.
- We are primarily looking for a baker for bread baking.
- You will have the main responsibility for baking all bread for the cold kitchen in Vetlanda and Eksjö.
- Is creative and has an eye for detail.
- Has good knowledge of various baking techniques and ingredients.
- Is economically minded as you will be ordering your supplies from wholesalers.
- Can work efficiently both independently and in a team.
- Is flexible and can adapt to workload.
- Is stress-resistant as the pace is high during the summer.
- Has a passion for good taste.
- Is an early riser, as your role will involve early shifts.

We prefer that you have completed all or part of the courses required to become a baker.
- Baking (1-4): The foundation of the education where you should be able to bake bread, coffee bread, sourdough bread, and rolled dough.
- Pastry (1-2): The basics of pastries, cakes, and confections.
- Food and Nutrition Knowledge: The study of the properties of ingredients, nutritional value, and how they affect the final product.
- Baking and Pastry Knowledge: Theory about methods, tools, and machines.
- Hygiene: Basic knowledge of food hygiene and cleaning routines (HACCP).
- Ergonomics and Safety: How to work in bakery tempo without harming the body.
Practical skills
- Ingredient Management: Understanding flour types, yeast, sourdough, and other ingredients.
- Processes: Fermentation, baking, and finishing.
- Machine Knowledge: Handling dough mixers, ovens, and rolling machines.
Other requirements
- Fluent in spoken and written: SWEDISH.
- Driver's license B is not required but is an advantage.
The position offers a fixed salary full-time 100%.
The position is expected to start as early as August-September, but you can visit the bakery soon where you will bake your bread.
